Honkers go 1-3 on the weekend

The Northwest Honkers hosted the Burnaby Bulldogs on Saturday, June 1st at Steve Cox Memorial. The Honkers dropped two to the Bulldogs 2-1 and 14-5. In game one JD Scholten threw all seven for the loss. In game two Jason Salers was on the mound for the Honkers going four innings for the loss. Honkers DH Jake Hines hit two solo home runs.

The Honkers then traveled up to Burnaby to play the Bulldogs and avoided the series sweep by splitting the double header on Sunday, June 2nd. Oliver Wange started game one for the Honkers going three innings for the loss of 8-2. Justin Ansdell came in for relief to finish the seven inning game for the Honkers. Sam Herzer was on the mound for the Honkers in game two throwing five 2/3 for the win of 6-4. Honkers 3B Jeff Freeman came in relief pitching 1 1/3 inning and UTL Jesse Bechtold closed the game for the Honkers.

Honkers face the Everett Merchants Monday, June 3rd at Everett Memorial at 7PM. HONK HONK!!
