Honkers take two from Sun Devils, Salers pitches no hitter


The Northwest Honkers defeated the Kamloops Sun Devils today at Shorecrest High School taking both games in the double header.

Game one Honkers pitcher #13 Jason Salers threw a seven inning no hitter with only two walks for the win. Honker bats put up 3 to take the game 3-0. Game two Honkers bats came alive to win a close one at the bottom of the ninth. Honkers led the game 7-6 going into the top of the ninth but the Sun Devils fought back tying up the game but couldn’t take the lead leaving bases loaded when closer Justin Ansdell struck the batterout. Honkers battled back in the bottom of the ninth when #19 Cameron Padron hit a walk-off double to center field to send the winning run across home plate.


Honkers hit the field again on Tuesday against the Seattle Studs at University of Puget Sound. Game time is 5:30PM. HONK HONK!!
