Honkers lose to Studs 8-6

The Northwest Honkers lost to the Seattle Studs Friday, July 19th at Heidelberg Stadium in Tacoma in a tough fought game 8-6. The Honkers Bobby Wassmann pitched 7.1 innings for the loss. There was no score going into the top of the third when the Honkers put up two. The Studs kept in reach scoring one in the bottom of the third making it 2-1 going into the fourth. The Honkers put another on the board in the top of the fourth but was not enough to keep the lead with the Studs answering back with three taking the lead 4-3 going into the fifth inning. The game remained scoreless until the Studs put up one in the sixth making it 5-3 Studs. The Honkers fought back in the top of the eighth driving in three to take the lead once again 6-5. However, they could not keep the Studs from scoring in the bottom of the eighth driving in three to take the final lead of the game 8-6 when the Honkers could not answer back in the top of the ninth.
Honkers center fielder Travis Fox had a triple in the game driving in two. Designated hitter Clayton Truex and left fielder Max Brown each had a double in the game for the Honkers. HONK HONK!!
