Honkers drop game two, Eliminated from NBC

The Northwest Honkers faced the Colorado Sox in an elimination game Sunday, August 4th at 2:30PM at Lawrence Dumont Stadium 9-4. Honkers Jason Salers pitched five innings with six strikeouts giving up six runs followed by Jeff Wyner, Justin Ansdell, Sam Herzer and Ronnie Johnson each with one inning.
The Honkers gave up a quick lead to the Sox giving up four in the first. The Sox then added one in the second, third and sixth. The Honkers began to rally back in the bottom of the eighth with but the Sox answered back with two in the top of the ninth. The Honkers never gave up though rallying back in the ninth with Honkers second baseman driving in two but fell short leaving bases loaded to lose 9-4 and being eliminated from the 79th National Baseball Congress World Series.
