“Honkin’ Back to School”

The Honkers are excited to help the organization Project Cool with their “Honkin’ Back to School” supply drives throughout the Honkers 2014 Summer.

SKCCH Logo with Web SiteProject Cool helps homeless students who may have lost most or all of their personal possessions get the school supplies they need to feel confident and be prepared. Included with every backpack a student receives is a Know-Your-Rights flyer on the educational rights for homeless students outlined in the McKinney Vento Act. SKCCH also regularly provides training for staff working with youth and unaccompanied minors to help them advocate for and support the educational rights of homeless students. Over 24 years, Project Cool has helped more than 23,000 homeless students be ready for the first day of school.

The Honkers will be designating certain home games to “Honkin’ Back to School” in which those attending can either donate items off the list below or a gate fee that will go towards purchasing these items to get in to the Honker game. Check back for more details on which dates the Honkers will be hosting their supply drives.
