Honkers drop game to Wenatchee Applesox

The Northwest Honkers traveled to the Wenatchee Applesox Thursday night to face the WCL opponent at Wenatchee Community College at 7:00PM. The Honkers came ready to play but the Applesox offense came striking in the second inning scoring 10 on Honkers starter Jason Shaw, who pitched three innings for the loss. The Honkers did not let up, down 14-1 the Honkers came fighting back in the seventh inning scoring 6 to make it 14-7 going into the eighth. However, they could not slow down the Applesox offense in the bottom of the seventh dropping the game 18-7. Honkers Justin Ansdell, Oliver Wange and Spencer Trautmann were in relief. Right fielder Tyler Cherin, second baseman Jordan Padilla and left fielder Andrew Cherin all had doubles for the Honkers in the game with T. Cherin and first baseman Clayton Truex hitting in two each.

The Honkers head up to Kamloops and Kelowna, BC for a four game weekend. Saturday against Kamloops game time is 1:00PM for the double header and Sunday against Kelowna game time is 10:00AM for the double header. HONK HONK!!
