Honkers take two from Trail

The Northwest Honkers took two Saturday in a double header against the Trail Orioles at Shorecrest High School. In game one Honkers Jason Salers pitched six innings, striking out eight, for the win over Trail 6-2. Oliver Wange came in for one inning to get the save striking out two of the three hitters. Third baseman Josh Fitch drove in two and first baseman Clayton Truex and left fielder Cameron Padron each drove in one. After starting the game down 2-0 the Honkers battled back scoring one in the fourth, three in the fifth and sealing the win with two in the sixth.

In game two Honkers Bobby Wassmann pitched eight innings for the win with Oliver Wange in to close the ninth inning with the save. Honkers center fielder Dalton Gervais had two doubles in the game along with short stop Erik Peterson with one double. Right fielder Padron drove in two for the Honkers along with second baseman Jordan Padilla, third baseman Fitch and pinch hitter Chaymi Rodriguez each driving in one.

The Honkers head for a road trip to the Grand Forks International Tournament in Grand Forks, BC that runs from Wednesday, June 25th to Monday, June 30th. Honkers first game is Wednesday at 1:30PM against the Lacey Saints. HONK HONK!!
