Honkers drop game to Merchants, pick up a win against Laces

The Northwest Honkers faced the Everett Merchants Wednesday night at Everett Memorial in a league game losing 14-5. Honkers JD Scholten pitched four innings for the loss with Jeff Wyner and Justin Ansdell in relief.  Left fielder Chaymi Rodriguez both had a double in the game for the Honkers and second baseman Jordan Padilla had a triple driving in two. Honkers center fielder Dalton Gervais scored two of the Honkers five runs with two solo home runs in the game, one to left field and one out center.

The Honkers then faced Laces Baseball Club on Thursday night at Kent Memorial in a non-league matchup winning 5-4. Honkers Tanner Braun pitched four innings for the win with Justin Ansdell, Tyler Cherin, Spencer Trautmann and Chase Kairis in relief. Center fielder Gervais hit another one out of the park scoring two on the home run. Right fielder Paul Sitkowski had two doubles in the game for the Honkers.

The Honkers head to the Kitsap County Fairgrounds on Monday, July 7th to take on the Kitsap Hornets at 7:05PM and at home against the Seattle Studs at Kent Memorial at 7:00PM on Tuesday, July 8th for our second “Honkin’ Back to School” drive for Project Cool.
