Honkers drop tough one to Merchants

The Northwest Honkers traveled to Everett Thursday to face league opponent, Everett Merchants. In a tough loss the Honkers dropped the game 10-4 with the bats coming alive a little to late in the game. The Merchants came out quick putting up five in the first three innings with little answer from the Honkers. The Merchants continued to put the Honkers away scoring two in the fifth and seventh and one in the sixth. The Honkers battled in the ninth scoring two but could not come within reach of the Merchants. Honkers Tanner Braun pitched 4.2 innings for the loss with Jesse Bechtold and Justin Ansdell in relief. Honkers center fielder Jacob Zanon and first baseman Cameron Padron each had a double for the Honkers. Designated hitter Andrew Cherin had a home run in the game driving in two for the Honkers.
