Honkers drop two in double header

The Northwest Honkers traveled to Edmonds CC to face non-leauge opponent, North Sound Emeralds, in a double header Saturday, dropping both games in close battles, 3-1 and 5-3.
In game one Honkers Dirk Dembroski pitched a complete game giving up only six hits. Honkers left fielder Hunter Bingham and second baseman Jordan Padilla each had a double in the game. The Emeralds chipped away scoring one in the third and fourth and adding the third run in the sixth with answer from the Honkers in the seventh but unable to drive in the winning runs.
In game two Honkers Max Dwyer went five innings for the loss with Bobby Jackson in relief for three innings. The Emeralds came out strong scoring five unanswered runs in the first six innings. The Honkers made a run at the Emeralds putting up three in the eighth but again were unable to drive in the winning runs in the ninth to drop game two.
