Honkers defeat the Merchants with a Strong Finish

After a tough night of errors, the Honkers turned right around the next evening to face the Everett Merchants in another league matchup.

The Merchants got on the board again early putting up one in the first inning, however, Honkers starting pitcher Anthony Kast kept the Merchants quiet the remainder of the game pitching 7.0 innings and giving up only five hits. Honkers bullpen once again came in and finished the job with LHP Spencer Trautmann pitching 0.2 innings to face the lefties of the Merchants and Ryan Sheeley pitching 1.1 for the win.

The Honkers were held quiet for six innings but the Merchants were unable to stop the Honkers as the twelve hits as a team eventually showed on the scoreboard driving in one in the seventh and two in the ninth to seal the 3-1 win for the Honkers. Left fielder Andrew Cherin went 3 for 4 on the night with a double for the Honkers.
