Honkers Drop Tough One to Studs in a Battled of the Pitchers

The Honkers faced league opponent the Seattle Studs for the first time this season Wednesday at home at Fall City Community Park.
In a battle of the pitchers, Honkers starting pitcher Brad Bennett went six innings for the loss giving up only five hits with a strong bullpen behind him with Spencer Trautmann going in to face the lefty and getting the first out, followed by Tyler Wilson who went 1.2 giving up no hits and striking out three and Mitch Eatmon to face the other lefty in the line up and Ryan Sheeley to close the game. The pitching staff held the Studs to only seven hits in the game.
The game was silent until the seventh when the Studs were able to drive in the a run. The Honkers had a chance to answer with bases loaded in the bottom of the eighth with only one out but a failed bunt and ground out got the Studs out of the inning. The Studs were able to solidify the game driving in one more in the top of the ninth. Honkers designated hitter Scott Morton went 2 for 3 in the game.
