Honkers Pounds the WallBangers, as Big Bats Come Alive In Edmonds and Dudinakis and Bryniarski Each Homer

It was a beautiful site to see as thunder and lighting struck about halfway through the game, but there wasn’t any type of weather that could’ve stopped the offensive explosion of the Honkers on Thursday night. There bats came alive to the tune of 13 hits and two home runs, courtesy of Paul Bryniarski and Peter Dudinakis. It was a game that featured lots of two out knocks and clutch hitting but got out of hand fairly early on but the Honkers continued to pour it on. On the other side of the ball, starter Keenhan Coyle tossed five scoreless innings, striking out seven and scattering two hits over those five innings. It was a very good day for Keenhan as he was able to pound the strike zone and throw his fastball for a strike whenever he needed. This really helped the Honkers stay offensive minded as they were always getting quick outs on the defensive side and extending at bats on the offensive side.

The player of the game for the first home game of the year goes to both Paul Bryniarski and Peter Dudiankis for there stellar days at the plate. Paul continued to cement himself as one of the best performers on the Honkers, as he went 2-5 with 2 rbi’s and one HR, which brought his total up to #2 on the year. Peter also went in on the power surge as he went 3-5 and cracked a HR, carrying his season average to a team leading .483 and 2HR. These two bats have done an excellent job cementing themselves as some of the best hitters on this talented Honkers team.

The Honkers move to 1-0 at home and look to continue that tomorrow night at Triton Field in Edmonds, where the Honkers host the Alaska Goldpanners from Fairbanks. WE hope to see you there and HONK HONK!!
