Honkers Start off Tournament Strong, Shutout Pitching Performance from Josh Snider in 4-0 Win

It was a collectively good day on the mound for Josh Snider, as he was able to get through seven strong innings of work, while stranding seven hits and striking out six. Then the crafty Sean Nussbaum was able to come in and seal the shutout by throwing two innings to close out the game. The Honkers were able to do some work offesnivley, but were actually out hit in the ball game but were able to put up all four of there runs in the fifth inning. It was a very well played game for the Honkers as the offense was able to get some timely hitting from Zach Zurbrugg, who had a clutch two run double in the fifth inning to extend the lead to 3-0. Earlier in that inning, Paul Bryniarski was able to drive in a run with a single for the teams first run of the game. Jaden Yackley was also able to provide some run support, as he drove in Peter Dudinakis for the fourth of that inning. That seemed to be more than enough for the Honkers, as they were able to pitch there way out of trouble, and play some solid defense that got the Honkers going in the right direction to start of the tournament.

The Honkers continue the tournament by playing the Burnaby Bulldogs next as they look to continue there good play.
