The Merchants started this one off by rattling a 6-0 lead over the Honkers. The Honkers wouldn’t show any sign of life until the 8th inning in which they put up 4 runs. The Honks topped that with another run in the 9th but was ultimately not enough as they fell to the Merchants 6-5.
Jordan Padilla drove in 2 runs for the Honkers finishing off a solid performance. Brock Bueno and Jaden Yackley both had good nights at the plate consisting of 2 hits and an RBI each. Paul Bryniarski also capped off an offensive night under the radar by recording a 3 hit game. Blaze Hastings started on the bump for the Honkers as he threw 5 innings and gave up 4 runs, although only 3 earned. The ball would then find Ben David who gave up 2 runs in 2 innings. Logan Coe was the last guy for the Honkers throwing another 2 scoreless innings.
