Honkers Knock Off Dudes Twice in DH: Win G1 11-8, G2 7-5

Game 1 saw the bats come alive for the Honkers as they put up 11 runs on 15 hits. The Honkers quickly got out to a 4-0 lead in the 1st but the Dudes would answer right back by scoring 2. More offense would come for the Honkers as they would score 3 more, giving them a 7-2 lead. The Dudes, as they did earlier, didn’t let the lead get to them as they scored 6 to take the lead 8-7. While being down 8-7 after the 4th inning, the Honkers would break away in the top of the 7th scoring 4 unanswered to seal them the win.

The Honkers ended up having 4 guys finish with multi-hit games. Paul Bryniarski had himself a game as he drove in 3 runs for the Honks while also recording 3 hits. Kendall Yackley also did some damage as he drove in 4 runs for the Honks. Josh Snider would get the win as he threw all 7 innings, giving up 8 earned runs, striking out 4, and only walking 1.

Game 2 was another good game for the Honkers as they ended up taking a 7-5 win. The game was scoreless after 2 until the 3rd inning saw the Honks score 6 runs to take the lead. The Dudes scored 5 the rest of the game, but that wasn’t enough to pass the Honkers while the Honkers put up another run in the top of the 7th to close the game.

The bats for the Honks were very spread out in this one as 5 different players each had an RBI. Cameron Padron and Zach Zurbrugg both drove in 2 runs combining to drive in the majority of the Honker’s runs on the game. Jaden Yackley got the start in this game as he threw 4 innings, gave up 4 earned runs, walked 5, while ultimately getting the win. Marcus Notebook got a 3-inning save and only gave up 1 run.
